Summer Reading Assignments

Summer is the perfect time to relax, recharge, and dive into the world of books! At Omni Middle School, we believe that reading over the summer helps students retain knowledge, strengthen comprehension skills, and prepare for success in the upcoming school year. This year, we encourage all students to explore engaging books while completing their 2025 Summer Reading Assignments.

Here’s what students need to do:

• 6th Grade (Regular/Cambridge/Gifted) – Choose any grade-level, parent/guardian-approved book. Complete the Characterization & S.T.E.A.L. Graphic Organizer for the main character.
• 7th Grade (Regular/Cambridge/Gifted) – Choose any grade-level, parent/guardian-approved book. Complete the Characterization & S.T.E.A.L. Graphic Organizer for the protagonist and antagonist.
• 8th Grade (Regular/Cambridge/Gifted) – Choose any grade-level, parent/guardian-approved book. Complete the Characterization & S.T.E.A.L. Graphic Organizer for the protagonist, antagonist, and one supporting character.

Summer reading is essential for maintaining literacy skills, expanding vocabulary, and fostering imagination. Whether students choose thrilling adventures, historical fiction, or thought-provoking nonfiction, each book provides an opportunity for growth and discovery.

We encourage families to support their children in finding books they enjoy and engaging in discussions about their reading. A strong start to the school year begins with a summer filled with learning and exploration!
